COL LAXMAN SATHE (VETERAN) Director - Defense Training

Colonel L. M. Sathe of the Indian Army served in the well-known RAJPUT Regiment from 1971 to 1995 before he retired from the Indian Army.

An alumnus of the Sainik School, Satara & National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Pune, he got inducted in the Bangala Desh Operations in 1971 in which the INDIAN ARMY liberated Bangaladesh & captured approximately one lakh Pakistani prisoners.  

Later he served on the Himalayan borders in North East in Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland, the lonely deserts of Rajasthan, on the Pakistan border in URI & KARGIL Kashmir, & in Punjab.  He also participated actively in operations/ wars in Srilanka (IPKF), PUNJAB (Operation Blue Star) & Jammu & Kashmir. He has won many Medals & Honors during active INFANTRY service.

After retirement from the Army he got actively involved in Distribution businesses around Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, & Solapur districts   & commenced many new ventures including a LPG Distributor Agency.  Later years; he has been involved in number of social organizations & activities & Ex-servicemen Welfare.

Colonel Sathe is a masters in Defence Studies and has earned Ph. D. from the Madras University.  During his service he also completed MBA from the Pune University.

He is married to Mrs. Nutan who is herself highly qualified & was involved in teaching.  They have 2 daughters who are also highly educated & settled abroad in  USA  &  Australia.
